19th Century Court Gown Sketch

Description

So the other night while my sweetie and I were watching the 13th warrior (again) I set about this little sketch. It took me about the length of the movie (less then 2 hours) and then a little touching up in Photoshop just before I up loaded it. All in all about  2.5 hours of work in this. I did have a reference for the gown, www.livemaster.ru/item/2692433… and I used a mirror to get my likeness right. This is just a sketch for the drape of my wedding gown. I'm lousy at drawing patterns so I left off the embroidery that I want all over this. The wings are the most undefined of everything. Other then decorative with gold tone veins and pointing down so they can be large, I'm still up in the air on how I'm gonna make them or if I can commission them.

Most of all this was a relaxing little escape from the world and it reminded me just how much I love to put pencil to paper.

WOW!!! I can not believe you achieved such amazing results in that small amount of time!  This is a gorgeous sketch...you should really put pencil to paper more often! Heart
