Wedding Gown Idea Dump by BelovedUnderwing Wedding Gown Idea Dump by BelovedUnderwing
So I've been debating on doing this for a while now. I think I've finally hit on the design for my wedding gown. None of these are it :evillaugh: but I'll be posting that later. The last one is the closet to it in this lot. These are some of the best (that were small enough to scan in anyway) out of a year and a half worth of concepts. I complied over 700 images of dresses, gowns and illustrations of awesome fantasy clothing and distilled that down to what I'm working on now. I have a wonderfully tolerant seamstress that has been patiently waiting for me to make up my mind all this time. She is dying to get started on this wedding and the wedding party's costumes as well. Damn near all of it is going to be based off my dress and the style it will fall under.

The colors for my gown will be a deep warm amethyst, sheer pale golds and heavy embroidery with metallic threads and crystals. Most of the accessories and accents will be made by either Jeremy or me or both of us. We are using Autumn as our theme for the over all look. Lots of leaves and acorns. Jeremy will be in deep sapphire with the same sheer golds and embroidery. Our birthstones were the inspiration for the color choices. And yes we are getting married as Oberon and Titania! Hence the pointed ears :woohoo:
More to come!

oh, you have no idea, I only used the sketches that I could scan in...there are many many more that were too large for my scanner...but I'm done design and shape hunting...only took a few years ;)

considering I want to use this gown at a costume piece, I have some pretty high requirements for it to meet. One being that I can get in and out of it on my own!

Plus my seamstress wants to badger me into a train of some kind, and this is an outdoor wedding, so as long as it can be bustled up and hang well after the wedding I'll be very happy. Now we just need to nail down the insane levels of embroidery I want on this thing.

These designs are exquisite! 10, 17 and 26 are my favorites, but I'm sure no matter what you choose you'll be absolutely stunning.
Such a stunning idea, Titania and Oberon are the best couple to epitomize royalty, love, and a little magic that all weddings need.

Best wishes for love and magic to you both!!
